MEDIAPOLIS — The Winfield-Mt. Union girls basketball team had a rough start to Tuesday night’s SEISC North Division game at Mediapolis. The Wolves trailed by double gitits early and could never comeback, falling 64-32.
Mediapolis led the game 16-4 after one quarter and 21-9 at halftime. W-MU was able to play the Bullettes within eight points in the second haf, but W-MU never won a quarter.
Jobey Malone had a nice night despite the loss. She went 6-6 for a team-leading 13 points, and also led the Wolves with six rebounds.
Keely Malone and Ali Cockerham ended the night with five poitns each. Farrah Nelson had four points and a team-leading five steals. Bradie Buffington and Kyndal Townsley ended with two points apiece, and Molly Miller had one.
Jami Wilkerson didn’t score on the day, but ended the night with four steals.
W-MU is now 1-1 on the season. They’ll hit the road to play Pekin on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
