Teen drives car into tree

MT. PLEASANT — After driving a truck into a tree in McMillan Park Thursday morning, a Mt. Pleasant teenager attempted to flee the crash on foot.

Jakob Olomon, 18, received a citation after several witnesses reported seeing the teenager drive recklessly in the park, according to a report from the Mt. Pleasant Police Department. The police received the call at 10:13 a.m., and there were several witnesses to the incident.

The report states Olomon scraped a building and struck a tree with a black pickup truck, which immobilized the vehicle, before he “took off running” after the crash. No injuries related to the incident were reported.
