Washington Public Library, Kalona Public Library, Wellman Public Library and Keota Public Library have expanded their check-out options to include STEM Backpacks.

These backpacks are filled with Iowa State Extension and Outreach hands-on learning activities to be completed at home.

Washington County Extension and Outreach, in partnership with Briton Trust, provided these family friendly kits for learning and fun at home.

“We were very fortunate to be able to partner with local libraries to provide hands-on, engaging activities that families can check out,” said the Extension’s Youth Outreach Coordinator Diane Rinner.

The STEM backpack activities include, Humpty Dumpty, Bee and Me, Magic Eye Kit and Curious Coding. These kits are geared toward pre-kindergarten through third grade.

For more information about checking out these STEM backpacks, contact the libraries directly.
