MT. PLEASANT — Four juveniles are awaiting charges after stealing a vehicle and attempting to flee from police early Sunday morning.
According to a news release from the Mt. Pleasant Police Department:
The Mt. Pleasant Police attempted to stop a vehicle, which had been reported stolen out of Fairfield, at approximately 2:39 a.m. on Sunday. A pursuit began when the vehicle took off and was eventually stopped near Ainsworth with the use of stop sticks. No one was injured in the pursuit.
After the vehicle was stopped, the four juveniles fled from the vehicle but were caught soon after and later released to their parents.
The Mt. Pleasant Police Department was assisted by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the Washington Police Department, Louisa County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
The department encourages residents to remember to lock their cars and keep their keys inside their homes.
