Paul Richard Tucker, 84, of Cloquet Minn., formally of Fairfield, Iowa, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020, in his home. He was born Feb. 27, 1935, in Columbus Junction Iowa, the son of George and Nina (Lawson) Tucker. Paul was raised in Fairfield, and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1953. He was united in marriage to Juanita Hedlund in Fairfield in 1953. In 1956, Paul graduated from Bethesda Bible Institute in Detroit, Mich.
Paul Pastored churches in Batavia and Burt Iowa, before moving to Mexico to serve as a missionary for two years. Paul continued serving in British Guiana and the Caribbean Islands, after which he spent the following two years training in evangelism. Paul pastored the Calvary Temple in Duluth for 20 years, before pastoring in Shawnee, Okla., for six years. In 1991, Paul and Juanita moved to Wisconsin to continue ministering. Paul traveled ministering, teaching and mentoring pastors around the world, including France, Africa, Belize, England and Canada.
Paul was the founder and president of International Association of Ministries for 30 years. He pastored several churches and mentored many young men and women who are in the ministry today.
Paul enjoyed woodworking, building benches, making bird houses and riding his Harley.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
Paul is survived by his wife, Juanita of Cloquet; daughter, Colleen (John) Smith of Superior; sons, Paul Tucker Jr. of Duluth and Steven (Annette) Tucker of Wrenshall; grandchildren, Hanna Theida, Naomi Bouts, Jesse (Shanna) Smith, River Smith, Jonathan (Dani) Smith, Angela (Henry) Smith Mohr, Joshua Smith, Kayloni (Lewie) Tucker Davis, Zachary (Melissa) Tucker, Brianna, Julianna and Kaitlyn Tucker; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Liam, Benjamin, Jackson, Addy, Molly, River, Zhiana, Jasmine, Christian, Isaiah, Annabelle, Tucker, Addie, Charlotte and Evelyn.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, in Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St., Cloquet. The visitation will continue 10 to 11 a.m. with the funeral service after, Thursday, Feb. 27, in Journey Christian Church, 1400 Washington Ave., Cloquet. Private family entombment will be in Sunrise Cemetery, Hermantown. Arrangements entrusted to Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St., Cloquet.
